At the request of the
Executive Committee,
the CoSMOS web site was
closed in September 2006.
An up-to-date replacement site has not yet
been produced.
For the benefit of anyone interested, the
history of the first six years of the development of the Society and the
Sunderland Symphony Orchestra, based on the original web site,
is being developed and will be published shortly.

The first six years
Here you will find information relating
to how the Society and the Orchestra came into being, and the people
involved in the venture.
The premises used for all rehearsals and
the main concerts, and which became the orchestra's home, are described.
All performances which were given are
listed, together with the music played and names of guest artistes.
The Annual Reports of the Society,
together with the regularly published Newsletters and published articles
and reviews, provide a wealth of historical information.
This history terminates at the Annual
General meeting of the Society in March 2006, following which there were
significant changes in personnel and in the manner in which the Society
was run.
