Community Foundation Grant

Community Foundation

A grant has been received from the Community Foundation for the purchase of musical instruments and to provide for tutor expenses.

An orchestral glockenspiel and an oboe have been purchased and are already in use at rehearsals.

Part of this funding will underwrite the formation of a Youth and Music Group at West Park Church. Leaders will be Rupert Hanson and Diana Hauber. Membership will be drawn from the Church and the local community. First meeting is on Monday 3rd March at 6.30pm.

Membership matters All members will by now have received an invitation to renew their membership of the Society. If you have not already paid – please do so promptly.

You do not have to be a player to be a member. Members can be involved in supporting roles – selling tickets at the door, stewarding, serving refreshments and particularly with CLEARING UP after concerts – putting chairs and music stands away and washing up! Setting up and clearing up is currently done by only four people and help would be appreciated. JOIN and be part of the TEAM! Membership is £20.00 per year. A concessionary rate of £10.00 is granted to young people in full time education and to persons of working age who are unwaged or on the dole.
