Sunderland MUsic Festival

Sunday 6th July 2003

Organised by The Musicians Union     

 on behalf of St. Benedict’s Hospice

Sunderland Symphony Orchestra

7.00pm – 8.00pm

Also appearing throughout the day will be The Ray Chester Big Band, The Caffrey Brothers, Mia Webb, a Steel band, a Pan Band, a Jazz band and many others. All musicians have given their services free.

All our members are asked to play at this event. If you have any friends who would like to join in, please ask them to come to the rehearsal at West Park Church on Wednesday 2nd July at 7.0pm.      (A number of our members are away on holiday etc.)

Microsoft have donated a copy of ‘Front Page’ to the Society.This will enable us to undertake web-site work in house, should the need arise.

Orchestra Room The six windows in the orchestra’s room at West Park have now been replaced by the Church Authorities. This completes the programme of renewing all 28 windows around the hall. The floor has been carpeted with carpet tiles kindly donated by Littlewoods Stores. Thanks to Ken Smith and David Mills of West Park Church for undertaking this work.

 

Sound, Rhythm and Soul – The SRS Experience

A new project started by Rupert on Thursday nights, teaching drumming and percussion. External funding has been obtained. 15 people have signed up. They will also be taking part in the September concert.
