well and look forward to his return.

The Chairman has produced a 32 page history document, which we hope to
publish in the near future.
Recent Performances
Since the last newsletter
was produced, members of the Society have given TWO performances.
Symphony Concert – ‘Last Night of The Proms’ on September 13th
Very well attended – just over 300 in the
audience. An excellent atmosphere.
Our
soloists were Irada Akhundova (Soprano) and Miles Hanson
(Bass-baritone). Irada is from Azerbaijan and has not been in this
country for long. Miles is Rupert’s son. Both soloists gave competent
and entertaining performances.
An
innovation in the concert was a performance by ‘Sound, Rhythm and Soul’-
Rupert’s newly formed percussion group. Although different in concept to
the usual orchestral music, the contrast was well appreciated.
Rookhope Village Hall (Near Stanhope)
28 of our members went to Rookhope on Sunday 28th
September and gave an afternoon performance for the local community. The
hall was full and standing. The buffet tea provided had to be seen to be
believed! 'Sound, Rhythm & Soul’ participated and Irada was soloist.
